1994 alum wins Emmy for producing, directing, & DP

    CONGRATULATIONS and a big shoutout out to Westminster College broadcast alum Todd Hervey (1994) on winning an Emmy award for his work as producer, director, and director of photography on the documentary, “Blackbird: Legacy of Innovation!” One more reason we are #WCProud!

    “Blackbird: Legacy of Innovation”  is a historical documentary traces the development of the SR-71 Blackbird strategic reconnaissance aircraft, an icon of aviation history that fundamentally changed aerospace design and dynamics..  Hervey served as the producer, director, and director of photography for the project that aired on PBS station WCVE.  The National Capital Chesapeake Bay Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences honored the production with the regional Emmy for Best Historical Documentary.

    Hervey is co-owner of Fuel Creative, Inc., a successful production company. He has provided direction and consultation to assist Westminster students over the years.

    His work has won numerous awards, including an Emmy for editing at KDKA; Best Armed Forces Video award for an ROTC video; and four gold and three silver Tellys for videos about the Boy Scouts, the blind, and other topics.
