Fox CarolinaWe’re shouting out to Fox Carolina video journalist Mindy Neil Cecil, Class of 2003!12715384_10153501431213877_3171688451000537735_n

Mindy has been working long hours covering the South Carolina GOP presidential primary this month!

She joined the throng of political party animals and national media at the Marco Rubio campaign headquarters in Columbia.  She was in the center ring on the night when the election results were tallied up in the Palmetto State.  Mindy went toe to toe with the news crews from CNN, CBS, ABC and NBC.

278739_398580043535512_188657752_oShe started her career in television news while she was at Westminster College.  Early in her senior year, Mindy headed to Youngstown for an internship interview at WKBN-TV.  They did not offer her the internsEmmy-winning vidoejournalisthip, but instead gave her a part-time videographer job.  After a few years at Channel 27, Mindy moved to Greenville, SC.

That’s where she’s put down roots and has started a family.  She’s also a proven asset at Meredith owned WHNS-TV.  She’s an Emmy-winning video journalist at a highly competitive station where the newsroom never takes a break. Fox Carolina produces more than three dozen hours of local newscasts per week.

We love the pictures Mindy shares on social media showcasing her days and nights on the job and at home with the family.  She’s a great example of why we’re proud of our Westminster grads!
