Troy Jackson created his own major at Westminster College.

Troy Jackson created his own major at Westminster College.

This shout-out goes to undergraduate Troy Jackson for producing a great video profile about Westminster’s new Registrar, Scott Wignall.  Troy is a member of the BC 251/Single-Camera Video Production class and was assigned to shoot, edit, write and report a longer format television news package introducing the newest member of the Westminster administration.

Troy is majoring in Film Studies and Media Production– a major he designed himself at Westminster.

Scott Wignall is a great character to profile as he has an interesting background as a rocker, college instructor and a family guy who’s discovered he can keep the car parked as he and his family settle into New Wilmington.  I want to thank the Registar for allowing Troy to make this profile.  Check out the story Troy produced that’s entertaining, informative and connects the audience with the man in charge of crafting class schedules, reporting grades and managing transcripts for Westminster College.

I’m particularly proud of Troy’s use of three-point lighting in the interview and effort to match up the video to what we hear in the interview and story.

Troy has also been incredibly active this semester inside and outside of the classroom.  He’s helped several students with projects.   He’s worked hard with the Titan Crew with live sports broadcasts this semester. Troy was also successful as a member of the Titan Terror Studios crew in participating in the Pittsburgh 48 Hour Horror Film Project in October.
